Where the hell do I start. WHAT A FINAL. UNBELIEVABLE JEFF.
This was a game that had everything as Moorlands won the SIMPLIFY DEBT STRATHCLYDE CUP 9-8 on pens after the sides were tied 4-4 after extra time.
So, to the game, in brief, cos would need an hour to write it all.
East Dunbartonshire bossed the first half and deservedly led 2 nil at the break.
2nd half..A deserved red card for ED, opens the door, and Moorlands got one back. So into 4 mins of added time, a last second free kick, and an equaliser..2-2 and no time to restart.
So Extra time with ED down to 10 for the 30 mins. Moorlands took control with 2 goals to lead 4-2…now you would think, game over. NO CHANCE..ED get one back, and then guess what, stoppage time in the 120th min, and yep, an ED equaliser takes to to penalties.
OMG, what a shoot out, and we had drama in that. The standard of pens was awesome, and then, A SAVE. ED go mental as their keeper saves.. BUT HOLD ON, he is well off his line, and its a retake for Moorlands. They score..to lead 9-8.
Then, Moorlands keeper saves, and its over.
BOTH TEAMS DESERVE HUGE CREDIT…
As do the match officials led by Scott Doyle who all had outstanding games.
A special mention to the ED Management who despite massive disappointment were glowing in their comments on the game.
